Improving Vocabularies

For one to improve his writing in English Language, he has to read a lot. Yet, reading alone without proper techniques will only leave one with the vaguest idea of what he has read.

So how to read effectively?

1) Determine your purpose of reading; whether you are looking for new ideas or new words.

2) Refer to the questions (for exam paper) before you read a particular pragraph.

3) Highlight important points/sentences related to your purpose of reading the text.

4) Ensure that you read a topic about something that of your interest.

This way, you will find reading less taxing thus assist you in understanding the topic better.
